SENIOR CITIZEN PROTECTIONS

We need to maintain and expand many of the senior programs we have throughout Macomb County. These programs need proper funding to continue. In addition, our seniors should never be cut off from their loved ones. As a county commissioner, I will continue to ensure senior programs are part of the budget and protected. I will also work with legislators and local governments to make sure our seniors' rights to see loved ones are protected.

INFLATION AND THE ECONOMY

The answer to solving the inflation problem is not to pass the bill on citizens. We need to support local businesses, stop our dependence on foreign products, and support one another by buying locally. Macomb County has one of the strongest economies in Michigan. Still, even Macomb County must continue to protect small businesses and individuals from the federal and state governments' poor economic decisions and policies.

SAFETY AND SECURITY

As county commissioner, I will continue to make sure that adequate funding is in the budget for personnel, training, and equipment for all First Responders. This includes the Macomb County Sheriff, support of local police departments, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, and all those on the front line as First Responders.

INFRASTRUCTURE

Macomb County has one of the best Road Departments in the state. As county commissioner, I will continue to help ensure priority projects are done with quality materials, on budget, and done right the first time. We need to demand that stimulus money given by the federal government to Michigan is allocated to Macomb County. There should be no need to increase taxes to fix the roads and infrastructure.

SMALL BUSINESSES

Small businesses are best left to fair competition to maintain competitive prices. We saw firsthand what happens when government overreach occurs with extended mandates. As a county commissioner, I will keep small business owners, their employees, and patrons at the forefront of making decisions to keep Macomb County's economy strong and businesses open.
